Amazing Black And White Portraits by Alexander Khokhlov

This series of black and white portraits is called “Weird Beauty“, a project by the Russian photographer Alexander Khokhlov in collaboration with great make-up artist Valerya Kutsan. He brilliantly used the female face as a canvas for different branding and graphics that you wouldn’t normally put on your face. The black and white make-up by russian make-up artist Valerya Kutsan creates mesmerizing effects on the female faces, somealmost look 3D. The duo chose shapes and symbols that are hardly relatable to a human’s face, like a QR code or a large key hole which make the models’ faces dissolve in the background. The hardest one to avoid is the overlaid Mickey Mouse face that’s amazing and creepy at the same time which can be found at the very end of this post.

All of these black and white portraits look like optical illusions. Your eyes first catch the drawing and only after that you discover the beautiful female faces underneath. See for yourself! [photovide]
