Shadow photography is an extremely engaging art form. It can highlight emotions, create surreal images, and be used in a variety of ways. In my opinion, shadows are the most powerful and moving when used in black and white photography.
Considering this art form can easily pull at your emotions or evoke ideas, it’s no surprise that advertisers are using it to sell product. There’s no shortage of creative ideas with these shadow advertisements. Some of these ads use shadows to imply a situation while others use it to exaggerate an idea or a physical object. Regardless of how shadows are used, there’s no doubt that the possibilities are endless.
